Patient information

For patients

Our focus is patient-centred care. Here's what you need to know to prepare for your appointment.

1

Get a referral

To make a Medicare claim a valid referral is required — 12 months from your GP, 3 months from a specialist. GPs may issue indefinite referrals for ongoing conditions (a new referral is needed if your GP moves or retires).

2

Referral is triaged

Send your referral to the clinic by fax, email or post. One of our cardiologists triages it to ensure any necessary testing is arranged before your appointment.

3

We book you in

Our administrative staff will contact you to arrange a suitable time — so please provide your best contact details. Urgent? Your referring doctor can call us to request an urgent review.

4

Attend your appointment

Bring a list of your current medications (or ensure it is included in your referral). A valid referral lets your cardiologist have an informed history and lets you receive Medicare rebates.

Please note

If you have no valid referral or valid Medicare card at the time of your appointment, you will be liable for the full payment of services and will not receive a Medicare rebate.
