Working with the University of Adelaide's Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders to make breakthroughs in new treatments.

The Cardiovascular Centre works closely with the University of Adelaide's Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders, undertaking world-class research and making breakthroughs in new treatments.

The Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders (CHRD) is a dynamic and dedicated research organisation committed to excellence in cardiac electrophysiology. The group is involved in both research and the clinical management of heart rhythm disorders, allowing the rapid and direct translation of novel research discoveries to benefit patients.

The research programs focus on the spectrum of heart rhythm disorders and involve a multidisciplinary team of physicians, bioengineers, research scientists and computational modellers — with an integrated approach to research at the molecular, cellular, whole-heart and patient level. The mission is to advance the understanding and management of heart rhythm disorders and improve health and wellbeing in the community.

Our clinical group has strong associations with the CHRD, whose research is internationally renowned and has attracted numerous awards. Our EP physicians are involved in cutting-edge research into cardiac rhythm disorders, and the experience and expertise of our EP team places our clinic among the top referral centres in Australia for the evaluation and treatment of complex arrhythmias.
